Derivatives in Russia - an international conference at the EBRD
For many years the development of a Russian market in derivatives has been a particular focus area for both the EBRD and the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA). In June 2007, EBRD and ISDA organized a Roundtable on Derivatives that was held in Moscow. The meeting discussed various issues of a business as well as legal nature that affect derivatives trading. Particular emphasis was put on the legal framework and recent efforts in Russia to improve the situation.
To continue the discussions as well as to provide an update on the various other initiatives underway in Russia, three Russian trade associations (ARB-Association of Russian Banks, NFEA-National Foreign Exchange Association, NAUFOR-National Association of Securities Markets Participants) in cooperation with EBRD and ISDA have organized the one-day conference 'Derivatives in Russia' to be held at EBRD's Headquarters in London on 23 September 2008.
The event will feature speakers from Russia and the global markets in derivatives. It will include presentations and panel discussions on the status of the various projects being conducted in the legislative and regulatory areas in Russia, as well as among industry participants inside and outside of Russia.
