EBRD to co-sponsor Polish Business Advisory Service in Poland with the IFC
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Finance Corporation announced today the establishment of the Polish Business Advisory Service (PBAS), Miedzynarodowa Pomoc Polskim Przedsiebiorstwom (3P), which will provide financial and business advice and services to the medium size business sector in Poland.
PBAS/3P is an initiative of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, and is co sponsored by The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
PBAS/3P will assist the medium-size business sector throughout Poland by providing financial and technical advisory services such as the preparation of business plans and investment proposals, technical advisory work, investment implementation and general operational support.
With headquarters in Warsaw, PBAS/3P will eventually create branch offices in other industrial centres. PBAS/3P will work closely with existing firms and develop local business consultants.
PBAS/3P has been established at the request of the Government of Poland and will be funded in part by contributions from IFC and EBRD. Financial support has also been received from Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and the United States.
"At the individual enterprise level, businesses are in need of expertise to develop business plans and bankable project and investment proposals to gain access to available project financing", commented van der Mandele. "3P will solve this problem" - he added - "by providing this help to companies and individual entrepreneurs wishing to start up new ventures".
