Azerbaijan to hold investment conference at EBRD
Azerbaijan’s President Aliyev will meet investors in London
The Government of Azerbaijan will hold an investment conference on Tuesday 14
December at the headquarters of the European Bank for Reconstruction and
Development. Journalists are welcome to attend.
The all-day event will be opened by the visiting President of Azerbaijan,
Ilham Aliyev, and by Jean Lemierre, President of the EBRD. Senior Azeri
ministers and business people will attend. There may be an opportunity for
limited Q&A with journalists.
The purpose of the conference will be to highlight new business opportunities
in Azerbaijan, whose vibrant economy has grown at an average of 10 per cent a
year since 2000. The conference will look beyond the country’s oil and gas
sector to developments in finance, building materials, agribusiness,
telecommunications and tourism.
The conference, at the EBRD’s headquarters, at One Exchange Square, London
EC2A 2JN, begins at 09.15 and ends at 17.00. Registration for entry begins at
08.45.
