Tramwaje Warszawskie Sp. z o.o. in Warsaw (the “Company”) is considering to apply for financing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD”) up to EUR 50 million to co-finance purchase of rolling stock, modernisation of tracks and related infrastructure.

It is expected the project will include supply of 155 trams, modernisation of 20 km of tracks as well as consultancy for implementation assistance.

The proposed project has a total estimated total value up to EUR 450 million, and is intended to be financed by EBRD, other financial institutions, grants and the Company’s own funds.

Prequalification and/or tendering is expected to start in the third quarter of 2008.

Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a financing from the EBRD will be tendered in accordance with the EBRD’s Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the EBRD financing will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law or official regulation of the Purchaser’s country.
