Project description and objectives:

Parallel financing with EIB of the rehabilitation and upgrading of a 75 km
section of road of the north-south axis from Fier (Levan) to Tepelene. The
operation will also enhance the flow of funds to the road sector, and will
provide a master plan for the transport sector.
Business purpose
The road forms part of the ‘Core Network’ of
the Western Balkans, as recently defined in the Regional Balkans
Infrastructure Study (REBIS). Its rehabilitation is a priority nationally, and
in terms of trade-facilitation and regional integration.

Republic of Albania through the Ministry of Transport
