Project description and objectives:
|
The proposed project is an investment by Rhein Papier Holding an alliance
partner of the Finnish major paper industry group Myllykoski to construct and
operate a green-field mechanical pulp and paper mill with an annual capacity
of 380,000 tonnes of paper in Opatovice, the Czech Republic. The Paper Mill
will be located in the immediate vicinity of the existing power plant in the
municipality Opatovice operated by International Power Opatovice, a. s. The
new paper mill will use state-of-the-art technology representing the best
available technology (BAT) and will produce the full range of uncoated
publication papers. The production start-up is estimated in early 2007. The
Czech project is planned to follow the same well proven concept that
Myllykoski Group applies at Rhein Papier GmbH, the Group’s alliance partner in
Hürth, Germany.
