Abstract

A colourful and easy-to-read booklet explaining why the EBRD was created and by whom; where the Bank works; how this taxpayer-backed institution differs from but complements the work of private sector investors; and how it integrates environmental, legal and social concerns into its investment activities. This introductory booklet is illustrated with numerous examples of EBRD investments and a map showing the Eastern European countries in which the EBRD works.
